2015 Valdivieso Winemaker Reserve Malbec
Vibrant intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. Intense aromas of berries, fresh blackberries and blueberries are intertwined with characteristic floral notes, combining perfectly with touches of vanilla, coffee and chocolate. An intense attack of flavours as it enters the palate. Soft tannins accompany its structure. The fruit is balanced by a fresh sensation provided by its acidity. Grapes come from La Rosa vineyard, in Sagrada Familia, in the Curico Valley, planted in 1920. The grape vines reflect a character that is imprompted in the wine, apreciated in its aroma and texture. This vineyard is placed in a small valley close to the eastern side of the Coastal Mountain Range. Facing north, it is protected from the cool breeze that comes from the Mataquito River. As it is warm, it allows a complete ripening of the fruit, developing elegant aromas and a good structure with fine tannins.
- Careful hand selection. Bunches were gently de-stemmed. Fermentation is realized in stainless steel tanks for 7-10 days. During fermentation the skins cap is pushed by hand three times a day. The wine was aged for 6 months in French oak barrels.
